No, it is not a renovation project in progress. We asked around about this temple today, and most people we talked to, including some locals from the Sanepa area, thought it was an old temple being renovated. Whoever would have thought that a pagoda style temple would be built from scratch in our times? It is indeed a brand new temple being built from the foundation up, complete with copper roofs and intricate wood carvings. Well, it is actually twelve years old (the foundation was laid in 1996), and a lot of work is yet to be done to finish it. While we compile the very interesting history behind this temple and prepare a writeup about the even more amazing people behind it, here are some quick pictures taken today. Photos by Alok Tuladhar.
